Lexcel is the Law Society's legal practice quality mark promoting a quality management approach for client service and how to run a legal practice. It provides a flexible, supportive management framework to help practices develop consistent operational efficiencies and client services, manage risk effectively, reduce costs and promote profitability.
The accreditation process is rigorous involving on-site assessment from an independent Law Society approved assessor over one and a half days. The assessor has access to management and compliance records and randomly selects client files for scrutiny and staff for interview.
